Dispatch reported several trees downed by non-thunderstorm winds around the foothills.
Wider weather episode
A strong pressure gradient brought non-thunderstorm damaging winds to the higher elevations of east Tennessee on the 17th. Strong winds in the valley was responsible for one death in Loudon County.
