Yosemite Valley measured 14 inches of new snowfall.

A cold Pacific storm system moved through central California between the afternoon of February 8 and the evening of February 9. This system brought between a quarter to a half inch of rainfall to much of the San Joaquin Valley. Much of the Southern Sierra Nevada picked up between a half inch and an inch of liquid precipitation and snow levels lowered to near 3000 feet by the time the precipitation tapered off on the evening of February 9. A few locations in the Southern Sierra Nevada north of Kings Canyon picked up over a foot of new snow while many locations in the Sierra foothills and the Tehachapi Mountains picked up between 2 and 6 inches of new snow.
