A 68 mph wind gust was recorded at the Camp Creek wind tower two miles south of Camp Creek.

Mountain wave wind acceleration was noted in the lee of the Southern Appalachians as a deepening low pressure system moved northeast across the region. A very strong low level jet accompanied the strong system.
