Event narrative
A large oak tree fell on a house 2 miles NW of McMinnville. The McMinnville ASOS recorded wind gusts up to 45 mph. There were several power outages. A section of a fence was blown over 3 miles WNW of Salem.
Wider weather episode
A strong low pressure system over the Gulf of Alaska brought a strong cold front through. This generated strong winds across northwest Oregon, and also brought heavy rain which caused flooding on the Tillamook river. Large seas also caused damage in spots along beaches.
