A blaze charred more than 110 acres of brush in the US Army's Pohakuloa Training Area on the slopes of Mauna Kea on the Big Island. The fire was about two miles north of the Daniel K. Inouye Highway and on the Kona (west) side of Mauna Kea Access Road. No significant property damage or injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze was unknown.
