Heavy snow fell across much of northern Illinois starting during the evening of January 27th and continuing through the morning of January 28th. A 75 year old male was struck by a plow truck while snow blowing in Lake County, Illinois and died. Storm total snowfall amounts included 7.3 inches 2 miles north of Waukegan; 7.0 inches 1.6 miles west of Gurnee; 6.0 inches near Algonquin and 5.8 inches 5 miles northwest of Woodstock.
