Event narrative

Snow started falling on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (Kaibab Plateau) around 11 PM and continued through 5 PM on January 15. Just over a foot of snow was observed.

Wider weather episode

A low pressure center and cold front moved across northern Arizona overnight. The South Rim of the Grand Canyon received heavy snowfall. Heavy rain was reported in southwest Yavapai County.
