A potent upper level trough interacted with a surface arctic front across the region as frontogenetic forcing aided in the production of snow and strong winds. Much of Carbon County received heavy snow not just in the Snowy or Sierra Madre Ranges with impacts of the heavy snow and winds on area interstates and highways.
