CoCoRaHS station NV-DG-23 3 miles east-southeast of Heavenly Valley reported 1.06 inches of rainfall in a 24 hour period from 16 January 0800PST to 17 January 0800PST.

Wider weather episode

A strong shortwave slammed into the Sierra on the evening of the 16th and brought widespread heavy snow to the Sierra along with strong winds. The lower valleys of western Nevada received moderate to heavy spillover rainfall from this second shortwave.
