Hail ranging from pea to quarter size covered the ground in the Old Town area.

Near daily record cold 500 mb temperatures associated with an upper level low steepened mid level lapse rates and contributed to sufficient instability for accumulating hail across portions of the Florida big bend. Most hail was less than quarter size, although some quarter size hail was reported in Dixie county.
