The media reported that they received information from the California Highway Patrol that a vehicle was swept into Scotts Creek as they were trying to cross a flooded roadway. 3 people were rescued from the car.

Wider weather episode

Heavy snow fell over the mountains and extended down into lower elevations, causing widespread travel problems and road closures. Thunderstorms brought heavy rain and small hail with widespread road flooding. Gusty winds brought down trees and caused power outages.
