Caltrans reports that there was a full closure of Highway 16, both eastbound and westbound, due to flooding. (Esparto to Dounty Rd 89/Guys Station).

Wider weather episode

Heavy snow fell over the mountains and extended down into lower elevations, causing widespread travel problems and road closures. Thunderstorms brought heavy rain and small hail with widespread road flooding. Gusty winds brought down trees and caused power outages.
