Event narrative
Via a Facebook live with CBS13 and the Williams Fire Department Chief reported that 6 swift water rescues have occurred today. One was on going at the time of report which included a child and an adult. The fire chief estimated that there was 3-6 feet of flowing water over the roads. Both I-5 and old Highway 99 were closed for flooding.
Wider weather episode
Heavy snow fell over the mountains and extended down into lower elevations, causing widespread travel problems and road closures. Thunderstorms brought heavy rain and small hail with widespread road flooding. Gusty winds brought down trees and caused power outages.
