Event narrative

The county reported there were numerous reports of blocked roads due to mudslides and 25 reports of flooded roads across Calaveras County. A line of storms remained stationary over this area with 1.0 inch of rain being reported in an hour which caused these conditions.

Wider weather episode

Heavy snow fell over the mountains and extended down into lower elevations, causing widespread travel problems and road closures. Thunderstorms brought heavy rain and small hail with widespread road flooding. Gusty winds brought down trees and caused power outages.
