The C-MAN station PSTL1 at Pilots Station East reported a 43 knot sustained wind with a gust to 50 knots in a thunderstorm.

Wider weather episode

Deepening low pressure moving from Texas to the Lower Ohio River Valley generated a line of thunderstorms that moved through southern Mississippi and southeast Louisiana during the afternoon hours of the 18th. A wake low developed after the passage of the front, producing several areas of strong winds and minor wind damage.
