US Highway 20 closed from Arco to Carey on the 10th and 11th due to snow and wind. Reported snow amounts were 8 inches 7 miles south of Mackay, 10 inches in Arco, 7 inches in Moore, and 9 inches in Darlington.

Wider weather episode

A very strong Pacific system with an associated cold front brought heavy weekend snow to the Central Mountains, Eastern Magic Valley, Snake River Plain, Arco Desert, and Upper Snake River Highlands.
