A mesonet site near Lewisburg, WV recorded a wind gust of 61 miles per hour.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front passed over southeaster West Virginia. In the wake of the front, high winds intensified in the overnight hours, particularly west of the Blue Ridge. Impacts were amplified by waterlogged soil, allowing trees to be uprooted or displaced more easily.
