The wider storm

An upper level system quickly crossed the region during the morning and midday hours, bringing snow to the Black Hills area. The heaviest snow fell over the Black Hills, where four to eight inches was reported. Two to six inches of snow generally fell across the foothills and far southwestern South Dakota.
