An upper level disturbance spread snow across the northern Great Lakes on the afternoon and night of the 5th. This snow was mostly light, however some bands of heavier snow focused on Mackinac County in eastern upper Michigan. Allenville and St Ignace picked up 6 to 7 inches of snow in a short time period, as accumulation rates reached 1 to 2 inches per hour.
