Wider weather episode

Low level moisture trickled farther west into central New Mexico on May 7, 2019. The coverage of showers and thunderstorms increased across the area with much of this activity producing gusty and erratic outflow winds. The strongest thunderstorms with small hail and heavy rainfall impacted far eastern New Mexico. Quarter size hail was reported within Harding County. Virga bombs developed within the Rio Grande Valley during the afternoon and early evening hours. A peak wind gust up to 59 mph was reported at the Albuquerque Sunport.
