Sensor located eleven miles north-northeast of Garrett had estimated snowfall total of a foot of snow.
Wider weather episode
Two middle and upper level troughs moved across the region with an associated cold front and jet entrance regions providing enough lift and moisture to produce widespread snow and low visibility across the region. Much of the lower elevations received over 6 inches of snowfall. The Sierra Madre and Snowy Range had SNOTELs over 10,000 feet measuring over 20 inches of snowfall and 3 inches of snow water equivalent.
