Event narrative

Windy Peak sensor located at elevation of 7900 feet measured a snow water equivalent of 0.8 inches. Applying a snow to liquid ratio of 15 to 1 produced an estimated snowfall total of 12.0 inches.

Wider weather episode

Heavy, wet snow fell across much of southeastern Wyoming on the 20th and 21st making for slick commutes and limited power outages. Over 8 inches of snowfall was measured in the City of Cheyenne while heavy snow blanketed the Laramie Range snarling traffic near the Interstate 80 Summit.
