A strong upper level trough moved through South Texas on the 18th. Scattered strong thunderstorms developed along and ahead of the associated cold front that moved through the region. The storms produced wind gusts between 35 and 50 knots over the bays and Gulf waters of the Middle Texas coast as they moved through.
