Event narrative

Heavy rain from a slow moving line of thunderstorms flooded the exit ramps along Interstate 10 in Crowley plus several other streets were impassible with at least one vehicle flooded in the town. In Church Point one many streets were flooded and one business on Main Street had water enter the structure. Flooding was also reported in Rayne and Richard where many streets were impassable.

Wider weather episode

An unstable air mass moved into South Louisiana ahead of an upper level disturbance that was moving out of Texas. A weak line of storms moved into Southeast Texas then into Louisiana and strengthened. This produced flooding and a few reports of damage.
