Event narrative

Emergency Management reported a tree blew down onto a house in Island City. This tree also brought powerlines down onto the home, adding to the damage. Additionally, several more trees were downed along Kentucky Highway 11 south of Booneville.

Wider weather episode

Mini supercell thunderstorms developed across eastern Kentucky this afternoon as an upper level system swung through the Ohio Valley. Several of these storms produced damaging winds, including after they merged into line segments. Downed trees resulted in damage to a few homes and vehicles as well as numerous power outages, but fortunately no injuries were reported.
