The same tornado that started in Northampton county North Carolina, shifted its track slightly east within Greensville county Virginia and touched down again near Taylor`s Mill Road. From there, the tornado continued northeast crossing Caney Swamp and causing EF1 damage to numerous trees along Little Low Ground Road. The tornado then continued into extreme southwest Southampton county.

Wider weather episode

Scattered severe thunderstorms in advance of low pressure and its associated cold front produced damaging winds and numerous tornadoes across portions of central and eastern Virginia.
