Event narrative
A pregnant woman and her son were trapped in a car that flipped over after being swept against a guardrail on Grist Mill Road near Locust Road along the Ironstone Creek. The two were trapped inside the vehicle, where they both perished. The rescue crew could not reach them until the water receded about 5 hours later.

Thunderstorms brought 2 to around 5.5 inches of rain to parts of southeastern Pennsylvania on the afternoon and evening of July 11. The heaviest of the rain fell in southeastern Berks County, northern Chester County and upper Montgomery County.
