Event narrative

Up to four inches of rain fell in a short amount of time causing flash flooding. Numerous roads were flooded in Knox County including Highways 11, 15, 151 and 156, as well as Highway A between Hurdland and Novelty.

Wider weather episode

Storms developed along an old outflow boundary across portions of northeast Missouri and west central Illinois. There were numerous reports of damaging winds and several reports of flash flooding.
