Nickel size hail reported near Rosebud.

Abundant moisture and instability in place over eastern New Mexico on August 8, 2019 led to isolated slow-moving showers and thunderstorms. Most of these storms produced heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and small hail. The strongest storms impacted the area near Capulin where half dollar size hail and flash flooding was reported. Significant damage occurred to roads leading to the Capulin Volcano. The area around Rosebud also reported nickel size hail.
