Gust of 65 mph was recorded at Black Hills RAWS. Twenty minutes later a 71 mph gust was recorded at Horse Camp RAWS.

Wider weather episode

Scattered showers and thunderstorms formed area wide during the afternoon and evening hours and generally moved westward. The storms caused severe wind gusts across southeast Arizona bringing down power poles and causing property damage.
