Storms developed ahead of a cold front moving across northern Minnesota on the afternoon of the 26th. These storms contained large hail and damaging wind gusts as they moved across the Minnesota Arrowhead. The storms remained severe as they moved over western Lake Superior with large hail and wind gusts to near 60 mph being recorded.
