Emergency manager reported numerous trees blown down in central Polk County, including the Columbus area. Trees fell on two homes on Red Fox Road near Columbus.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms and storm clusters developed across the North Carolina Piedmont during the afternoon. A couple of the storms produced damaging wind gusts.
