Wider weather episode
Slow moving storms coming out of the high terrain of the Rampart Range and the Wet Mountains produced very heavy rainfall on the evening of Jul 21st. Several reports of over 1.5 to 3.0 inches of rain were reported across the hardest hit areas, Monument, and Beulah. Roads were closed in Custer County as the old Beulah burn scar helped produce flash flooding and debris flows across area roadways.
One of the storms became severe over eastern El Paso County producing half dollar size hail near Schreiver AFB.
