During the afternoon hours of July 29th, a series of strong to severe thunderstorms moved through the Pikes Peak Region producing several reports of funnel clouds large hail and severe wind gusts. A majority of the reports are centered around one storm that moved through northern El Paso County and then off towards Kiowa County. This particular storm skirted just east of Colorado Springs producing several funnel clouds but no confirmed tornado. Large hail and severe wind gusts were the main impact from this storm.
