A thunderstorm moved across Reeves County and produced a 58 mph wind gust two miles southwest of the town of Pecos.

Wider weather episode

A cold front was moving across West Texas which provided lift. Very moist and unstable air was present across the area. These conditions resulted in thunderstorms developing with hail and damaging winds.
