Event narrative

Extensive wind damage was reported throughout the city of Franklin. Approximately 40 homes were damaged in an area around Clay Street, High Street, and 4th Avenue. Wind damage was likely due to a downburst. Numerous power outages were also reported.

Scattered severe thunderstorms associated with a trough of low pressure produced damaging winds across portions of eastern and southeast Virginia.
