Event narrative

Numerous trees were knocked down in the Westover Hills area of Danville. One house suffered major structural damage and another house and mobile home suffered minor structural damage. The wind damage was caused by a microburst from a severe thunderstorm.

Wider weather episode

A cold front interacted with high instability to produce a broken line of severe thunderstorms that produced damaging winds across the areas east of the Blue Ridge.
