Strong southerly Chinook winds resulted in a peak wind gust of 61 kts (70 mph) at the U.S. Army Mesonet station Texas Condo near the Richardson Highway south of Delta Junction.
Wider weather episode
A low pressure center over the Bering Sea resulted in strong southerly flow across the Alaska Range. This produced Chinook wind gusts to 70 mph along the north side of the Alaska Range.
