High wind gusts occurred over Thermopolis for several minutes, including a maximum of 63 mph.
Wider weather episode
A strong cold front passed through western and central Wyoming, pushing out an abnormally warm air mass and bringing some high winds. The winds occurred both with showers and thunderstorms as well as gradient winds as the front passed. Some of the strongest winds included 73 mph at Lander and 71 mph to the south of Casper.
