What the National Weather Service wrote
The Fulton County Emergency Manager reported that a very large tree was blown down onto Mt. Paran Road NW between Jett Road NW and Rebel Trail NW. The tree fell onto a vehicle driven by a City of Atlanta Watershed employee, crushing the vehicle and killing the occupant.
The wider storm
Deep moisture over the state ahead of an approaching cold front produced several rounds of widespread rainfall over north Georgia on October 30th. Rainfall was heavy enough at times to produce isolated flash flooding. The strong front swept through north and central Georgia overnight and through the day on October 31st. Despite somewhat limited instability, strong lift and shear resulted in a few isolated severe thunderstorms in north and central Georgia.
