Event narrative

Just before 8 AM EST, Indiana State Police was called to the 125-mile marker on I-70 East, when a pickup truck crashed into the back of a semi. Police said the thick fog resulting in limited visibility is thought to have played a factor in the fatal crash. Unsafe speed was also a factor in the crash, according to police.

Wider weather episode

During the early morning hours of November 19th, patchy dense fog formed across portions of east central Indiana. This persisted through around 9 AM and was attributed to a fatal accident on Interstate 70 east of Indianapolis.
