NDOT mesonet station 4 miles southeast of Sand Mountain recorded a 62 mph wind gust from the outflow of a nearby thunderstorm on 8 August 1337PST.

Thunderstorms developed each afternoon the 7th and 8th, with a few storms producing strong downdrafts and surface winds.

Began near Frenchman (39.2800, -118.3500).
