Blizzard conditions with a visibility less than 1/4 of mile in blowing snow occurred at Pt. Thompson. A peak wind of 39 kt (45 mph) was reported at the Point Thompson AWOS during the event.

A strong low pressure system move east through the Beaufort Sea brought blizzard conditions and strong winds to the eastern Arctic Coast.
