Event narrative

Four to six inches of snow was reported by COOP observers and the public in Dubois. The snow was accompanied with high winds and extensive blowing and drifting snow. Interstate 15 was closed from Dubois to the Montana border. A-2 Road and Old 91 Route North were also closed at the same time. Multiple slide offs occurred prior to the roads being closed.

Wider weather episode

Early autumn snow fell across much of eastern Idaho creating significant travel issues.
