Heavy Snow — Northern Foot Hills, South Dakota

2019-10-20 · Northern Foot Hills, South Dakota

Wider weather episode

A storm system moved across the region, bringing rain to much of the plains. Temperatures became cold enough for snow across the northern and central Black Hills and northern foothills. Strong northerly winds helped to produce heavy upslope snow, especially across the higher elevations. Accumulations of one to two feet were reported from the Lead and Deadwood areas to Cheyenne Crossing. Another area of heavy snow developed from the Hill City area to Deerfield, where as much as a foot of snow was reported.
