Wind gusts of up to around 45 to 50 mph resulted in beach and dune erosion and flooding of parking lots and roads right along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Wider weather episode
A peak wind gust of 58 mph was recorded at a mesonet station at the Muskegon north breakwater light. Wind gusts of up to around 50 mph were common along the Lake Michigan shoreline. The high winds in conjunction with high lake levels caused minor flooding of some parking lots, roads and private property and beach and dune erosion right along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
