Several school districts had delayed openings or delayed bus service due to fog.

Wider weather episode

Fog settled back into the San Joaquin Valley north of Kern County during the evening of December 10 and reduced visibility to below a quarter mile at several locations during the morning of December 11. Once again several school districts in the valley either opened late or delayed bus service. The fog lifted into a status deck by late morning which eroded by afternoon as an upper level trough moved to the north of the area and mixed out the near surface airmass.
