Event narrative

In Taunton at 943 PM EST, a tree was reported down on Holloway Street. Also in Taunton, at 950 PM EST, a tree was reported down on Bassett Road near Bay Street. In Berkley at 1027 PM EST, a large tree limb was down on Pine Street and Route 24. In Easton at 1057 PM EST, a large tree was down on Purchase Street at Depot Street.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front moved quickly across the region late on the 31st. Ahead of the front it was a warm and very windy night, with many downed trees and power lines from strong south-southwest wind gusts. A 'fine line' of showers and isolated thunderstorms also helped mix down very strong winds from aloft. The damaging winds continued into the early morning on Nov. 1.
