Wider weather episode
An area of low pressure developed over the four corners region and moved toward Wyoming and brought an intense snowstorm to much of western and central Wyoming. In the mountains, the highest snowfall amounts fell in the Tetons where over two feet was commonplace. Casper Mountain also saw two feet of snow. Across the lower elevations, some of the more notable amounts included 10 inches at Wamsutter in Sweetwater County, 11 inches in Jackson in Teton County and 9.5 inches at Hudson in Fremont County. In addition, strong winds with some gusts past 50 mph caused blowing and drifting snow. This resulted in many road closures including Interstates 80 and 25.
