Event narrative

The emergency manager reported standing water and flooding over several of roadways in the southern and eastern portions of Dooly county. Radar estimates indicate that 4 to 6 inches of rainfall accumulated quickly over the area, with isolated amounts of up to 8 inches.

Wider weather episode

During the afternoon and evening hours of Saturday, October 19th, the post-tropical remains of what was once Tropical Storm Nestor swept across south Georgia bringing moderate winds, isolated severe thunderstorms and flash flooding to portions of north and central Georgia. A brief, isolated tornado was confirmed in central Georgia.
